ACCESS & INCLUSION STATEMENT

At Darwin Fringe, we believe that creativity belongs to everyone and aim to create intentional spaces. We are committed to making our programs, events, and spaces inclusive and welcoming for all members of our community. We actively work to break down barriers—physical, social, and systemic – that limit participation in the arts.

VENUES

Fringe occurs across more than 15 venues which means access varies for each show. We have listed access information for each event on the website and ticket listings. Got questions? Find that we haven’t mentioned something? Reach out, we want you to have the best time you can and we’re still learning.

LOOKING FOR EXTRA INFO OR SUPPORT WHEN AT FRINGE?

At the hub you will find volunteers and staff around that are there to answer your questions, or will find someone that can. If you are at a General venue we recommend touching in with their staff or reaching out to the Fringe team.

• Box Office – The box office is where you can buy tickets, score some merch and talk to a Fringe human. The Box Office will be located at Brown’s Mart in the city and will be open from Monday July 13. For Box Office updates you can check out the Box Office page.

COMPANION CARD PROGRAM

You can book your companion card ticket during the checkout process, by calling us or dropping by the office. What is a companion card? The card allows your chosen companion or carer to go with you to participating entertainment, recreation venues and activities without paying for a ticket for your carer.

CONCESSION TICKETS

If you are unwaged or accessing any form of concession or pension including Seniors Cards then you are able to purchase yourself concession tickets if they are available. Please note that not all shows may chose to offer a concession price level.

WARNINGS & THEMES

Shows that feature trigger or strong content warnings will have these listed in the show description and on their ticket page. If you’re looking for easy going, easy to follow family friendly content we actually have a filter that you can use to find those shows quicker.

We’re always eager to learn and improve, if you have any feedback or complaints about the accessibility of your Darwin Fringe experience please do let us know. We’re happy to receive this information however you prefer by either by call, appointment, written letter or even over social media. This extends to any feedback that you may have about any aspect of your experiences.

ACCESSING THE REGION

Tourism Top End have created a wonderful access guide, a resource designed to empower individuals of all abilities to explore and enjoy the natural beauty and cultural richness of this unique Australian city. This guide aims to ensure that everyone, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities, can partake in the vibrant offerings in Darwin and the Top End. Access for Fringe shows can be found on their individual listings.
