We all make decisions we probably shouldn’t — we just don’t usually say them out loud.
In Risk Appetite, local comedian Dessie Green takes that instinct and runs with it. This is a sharp, dark stand-up set built on the kind of thoughts most people keep to themselves — about work, relationships, expectations, and the small, everyday choices that quietly spiral.
Blending dry delivery with a controlled edge, Dessie draws the audience in with what feels familiar before pushing it just far enough to make you question whether you should be laughing.
This isn’t shock for the sake of it. It’s a calculated look at how people think, what we tolerate, and how quickly things can shift from reasonable to questionable.
You’ll recognise yourself in it — which is exactly where it gets uncomfortable.
