Queer Write(r)s

July 19 @ 4:20 pm - 5:20 pm
Queer Write(r)s

Welcome to a warm, intimate night of queer storytelling celebrating the voices, creativity and lived experiences of local LGBTQIA+ writers. Born from Queer Writes workshops, held each month in the Top End, this event brings together emerging queer storytellers who have been crafting original work in a supportive and collaborative community space.

Expect a delightful mix of storytelling styles—poetry, personal reflections, spoken word, humour, and heartfelt pieces exploring identity, place, resilience and queer joy. Every piece offers something fresh, surprising and deeply human. No two voices are the same, sharing the diversity of queer experience in the Territory.

This event is for anyone who loves grassroots arts, local talent and authentic stories told with honesty and heart. It’s especially welcoming to queer community members and allies who want to hear stories that resonate, surprise and connect.

Join us for a vibrant celebration of queer storytelling—funny, tender, bold and proudly community made.
