Spiers: Oops!.. I Boxed It Again.
Stuck overseas? What’s the craziest idea you’ve had to save a buck? Mail yourself home?
‘Spiers: Oops!.. I Boxed It Again’ is a musical parody inspired by the life events of Reg Spiers, presented by experimental theatre group Top Goose Company. We follow the saga of Australian wannabe-Olympian who mailed himself from England to Australia and became a folk hero. Never short of ideas, Spiers also landed himself on death row in Sri Lanka for drug dealing and was granted bail in Australia due to having a pre-paid holiday.
To adequately dramatise this epic tale, our production features parodies of Britney Spears’ back catalogue!
Top Goose Company was formed by Darwin-based talents Neža Strenčan and Harley Mason, who have written and will perform this production.
This is a truly legendary story of ingenuity and larrkinism deservant of a national holiday. See what it’s about, before the post goes out!
