Sophie Benkemoun is a bilingual poet, performer, and music maker whose work moves between spoken word, song, and improvisation. Beginning in Melbourne’s 90s slam scene and evolving through open mics, busking, and festivals, she has been writing and performing for more than 30 years. A proud Darwin local, Sophie brings a warm, intuitive presence to the stage, recently presenting her one‑woman show pockets full of poems at Darwin and Adelaide Fringe. Her poetry and stories appear in zines and anthologies and are published through travel maker press, which she founded in 2022.
