Territory Writers Prose, Poetry and Other Words

July 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Darwin and the Northern Territory host a broad range of writers, poets, story tellers, wordsmiths and other spoken word artists from Australia and around the globe. Supported by the Northern Territory Writers’ Centre, local groups of writers and poets come together on a regular basis to share and develop their writings working with each other to improve their skills and output and encourage publication in local and international journals.
This very special Darwin Fringe Festival Writers’ Event comes just over a month following the iconic 2025 NT Writers Festival at the Olive Pink Botanic Gardens on vibrant Arrernte Country, Mparntwe/Alice Springs, which explores the theme of angkwerre-iweme | healing in the winds of change.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

NT Writers’ Centre supports, develops and showcases writing and storytelling in the Northern Territory – celebrating the unique contribution of NT stories and storytellers to Australia’s cultural identity.
Our cornerstone event – the NT Writers Festival – is the Northern Territory’s premier literary showcase. Held alternately in Mparntwe | Alice Springs and Garrmalang | Darwin, it is a festival like no other: bringing readers, writers and storytellers together in an annual celebration of ideas, words, stories and languages that showcases our unique NT culture and rich First Nations heritage.
Our year-round development program, events and member services support and develop writers of all genres at all stages of their careers.
In everything we do, the NT Writers’ Centre aims to provide a hub for all readers and writers, and for those interested in ideas, culture, stories and language.
