Access & Inclusion Statement
At Darwin Fringe, we believe that creativity belongs to everyone and aim to create intentional spaces. We are committed to making our programs, events, and spaces inclusive and welcoming for all members of our community. We actively work to break down barriers—physical, social, and systemic – that limit participation in the arts.
We acknowledge the diverse abilities, cultures, identities, and lived experiences of our audiences, artists, and collaborators. Our commitment to access and inclusion means we strive to create safer, more equitable environments for everyone, particularly First Nations people, people with disabilities, neurodiverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and others who are historically underrepresented in the arts.
What we do:
- Enforce a NO TRAASH Policy which is our zero toleranc policy towards transphobia, racism, ablesim, ageism, sexism and homophobia.
- Prioritise access needs in our event planning, including venue accessibility and attempt tp provie clear communication so that everyone can make informed decisions.
- Encourage and support the participation of artists and creatives from diverse backgrounds.
- Provide low-cost or free ticket options to reduce financial barriers.
- Listen, learn, and respond to feedback from our community to improve inclusivity every year.
We recognise that inclusion is an ongoing process. Darwin Fringe is committed to continuous learning and adapting, and we welcome your feedback to help us do better.
