SOLEIL
July 15 @ 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm

SOLEIL is an hour-long experience by choreographer Molly O’Hagan, inspired by the Northern Territory environment and shared experiences. Blending commercial and contemporary dance with physical theatre, SOLEIL captures the intensity of the scorching heat and the deep connection to the community. The performance unfolds in five sections:
Journey to the Tropics: A farewell to the familiar, embracing the unknown, with hints of New Zealand culture, reflecting the director’s roots.
Mango Madness: A feverish and energetic exploration of the new environment and its endless possibilities.
Burning: A surge of intensity, as the heat pushes performers to the edge, evoking discomfort.
After the Storm: A calming release, mirroring the relief of rain after heat.
Fiesta: A celebration of the balmy evenings, filled with the warmth and spirit of Darwin’s vibrant nightlife.
SOLEIL invites those who call the Northern Territory home to reconnect with their journey, evoking nostalgia and a shared understanding of place. It’s for those seeking movement, music, and storytelling that stirs the soul.
