Event Series Event Series (See All)

To be opened by the artist 5.30pm Saturday 12 July

Have you ever wondered “How did we end up here?” Would you have ever thought there would be such a thing as taxing penguins? Sloppy: How boys broke the world is a preview of the last 20 years of the internet. From 4chan to AI, to DOGE, the internet has become a carriage for good as well as great harm. Eroding long-standing institutions and governance, radicalising people’s attention and addicting them to content, all the while, allowing elites and oligarchs to capture democracy and change the way we think.

What do we do?. Plenty. To quote Moot (2016)—the teenage boy who created 4chan in 2003. “Go out and live your life. There is no meme for it, ‘Touch grass’.
