Cycles and Comorbidities (C&C)
CABARET, MAGIC & BURLESQUE
Join Electric Blue in her debut show about the abyss and playground of our inner world, and how sometimes we’ll do anything to avoid dealing with it. Part musical theatre, part spoken word poetry, all mental health nonsense! Having now been told enough times that her singing is, in fact, not crap, and that her poetry borders on ‘powerful’, Electric Blue would like to finally be in the spotlight that their inner child craves. If you are (drumroll please) neuro-divergent, queer, depressed and/or full of existential fear, (or just a well adjusted individual who likes mental health content and poems) please join her in exploring the dark playground in Cycles and Comorbidities!
About the artist
Hi! I’m newish to Darwin (2 years now), and this is my debut show. I’ve always been drawn to performing but *checks notes* got side tracked doing unrelated university studies and having issues. Although I’m only old enough for a quarter life crisis, I’ve been singing and writing poetry a long time. It’s cliché, but I’ve found that making art is absolutely essential for me to find catharsis and meaning during difficult periods. Now I’ve been told enough times my singing is, in fact, not shit, and my poetry borders on ‘powerful’, I’d like to finally be in the spotlight my inner child craves. I flipflopped over a stage name, but Electric Blue is my favourite colour (and also doesn’t seem to be taken by anyone more famous) so DIBS. If you are (drumroll please) neuro-divergent, queer, depressed and/or full of existential fear, please come along for the ride.
