We came, we saw, we Fringed…
We at Fringe are so incredibly thankful for all of the trust, understanding and generosity that you, the community has shown throughout this year.
A massive thank you to Brown’s Mart our festival partner and auspicing body who was there through it all. Their committed and powerful team went above and beyond to help the Fringe community making us ever grateful to Sophia, Sean (out-going) and the amazing crew. Combined with on-going funding support from Northern Territory Major Events Company and the City of Darwin we were able to power through to Fringe 2.0. After our July cancellation the Darwin Entertainment Centre stepped-up to assure that local independent artists could share new work in 2021. Darwin is a more vibrant place because of you all.
We couldn’t have considered presenting Fringe without the lovely souls who came on to volunteer through out this year. Assisting with adventurous banner runs, tantalising COVID checkins and everything in between. You make Fringe a better experience.
A huge thanks as always to the wonderful arts organisations and venues who helped with spreading the word, sharing resources and connecting emerging artists to new opportunities. Darwin Fringe is so proud to be a part of this exciting, provocative and symbiotic creative community.
And last but not least, biggest mob thanks to the artists who gave us their energy, even to those who couldn’t present work; we exist because of and for you. Thank you to the box office staff and technicians and to some of the most courageous people that I have ever met; the 2021 core team. Without Haneen Martin, Jo Shearn, Mark Holman and some other key Fringe family; I know that I would probably not be in a good place this Christmas. I am eternally grateful for their professional and personal support in the face of such adversity.
Let’s see what we can incubate next year aye… Third times a charm? Have a great and safe holiday season.
Sincerely
Hannah & The Darwin Fringe Team ♡
