DESCRIPTION:Hear directly from the artist about this sculpture. \n\nAbout the work: \nLeafy organisms grow up the walls of Darwin’s Fringe venues\, spreading day by day\, reflecting the location back through itself. Growth is a temporary\, paper-based\, public sculpture installation created by Darwin based artist Max Paez. Each day throughout Darwin Fringe Festival the sculptures\, emulating the growth of epiphytic ferns found in the Top End\, will continue to grow up the walls at the Fringe Festival Hub (Brown’s Mart Theatre\, Courtyard\, and Studio) and Air Raid Arcade (The Birth of Venus Room\, The Main Room\, Top Floor Comedy Room). Look amongst the leaves and find satellite imagery\, environmental textures and other responses to the location. \n\nThe installation can be found at Brown’s Mart and The Last Supper Pizzeria and can be visited during opening hours.
