SUMMARY:Charlie Chaplin: Men Are Not Machines
DESCRIPTION:AI is rising. Will humanity rise with it? \nIn a world increasingly shaped by algorithms\, automation and artificial intelligence\, Men Are Not Machines brings the timeless warning of Charlie Chaplin crashing into the present moment. \nThrough a series of Chaplin-inspired vignettes\, performer Russell Smith revives the humour\, vulnerability and razor-sharp satire that made Chaplin one of the most powerful artists of the twentieth century. Audiences are transported to the turbulence of the 1930s — an era grappling with technology\, power and uncertainty — only to realise how closely it mirrors our own. \nAs machines grow smarter and faster\, Chaplin’s message feels more urgent than ever. \nThe performance builds toward a bold\, contemporary reimagining of the iconic speech from The Great Dictator — a rallying cry for compassion\, courage and human connection in an increasingly automated world. \nFunny\, moving and fiercely relevant\, Men Are Not Machines is not a warning against technology. \nIt’s a reminder that progress means nothing if we forget what makes us human. \n\nPRODUCTION NOTES\nDuration: 50 minutes \nContent warnings: Adult Themes\, Loud noises such as bombs/gunshots\, Mental illness \nAccess: \n\nLicensed Venue\nWheelchair Accessible\nAccessible by public transport\nVarious forms of contact accepted (written\, verbal etc) for complaints and bookings.\nA quiet space is available\nAssistance dogs welcome\nSeating options are available\nCar park suitable for wheelchair transportation available within 2 minutes of the venue entrance.\nGender neutral toilets available\n\n\nBOOK NOW

SUMMARY:Fresh Tracks ~ SOLD OUT

This program aims to foster the growth of the dance community and audiences in the Northern Territory of Australia. \nFresh Tracks is a performance platform for diverse choreography\, encouraging independent artists to take creative risks. Tracks supports these artists by providing studio space\, creative guidance and mentoring\, and production assistance to prepare their works for performance. This year\, we will showcase these new works in our studio space in Darwin\, followed by an artists’ talk to offer insights into their creative processes.
