Will Crawford: Rocksteady Darwin
“A wild mixture of stand up and sit down comedy and storytelling from one of the masters of risqué and cheeky one-liners. An unsolicited sequel to his 2022 barely half sold-out show, Rocksteady Darwin will celebrate his poor life choices since leaving Darwin’s croc-lined shores.
His first show Raw, Ready and a Little Unsteady was a touching, insightful and vulnerable exploration of the first few weeks of grappling with his MS diagnosis. This second show is largely about a man trying to squeeze in as many high risk, hedonistic and indulgent activities and mind-altering hallucinogens into his system before his neurologist finds out…….
Eighteen months ago, local comedian Will Crawford woke up dizzy, struggling to walk and unable to see beyond five metres. Tests revealed he had MS. He had to grapple with scenarios, ranging from not being able to drive, to how to write a comedy show from his experience. Thankfully, three months later, Will started some [prescribed] uber drugs, and most of his symptoms improved. But how to write a comedy about a disability? And how to get the NDIS to get him priority access to gigs at Discovery and Monsoons. A strange, weird and optimistic journey through some dark times.
Duration: 1 hour with no interval
