Wagait Beach Artists
Sue Chaplin of ‘Snapper Artsy’ is a passionate photographer. For her the Top End offers its own special range of photographic opportunities – landscapes and seascapes, birds, wildlife, sunrises and sunsets, and amazing electrical storms. The colours of Wagait Beach are an inspiration for a side passion of pour art.
Jake Christian is a stone carver who creates relief pieces from Zebra and Okapi sandstone by exposing the layers of white and chocolate brown and highlighting the natural colours of the stone.
Yvonne Odegaard is a Larrakia artist who is inspired by stories her grandmother told her when she was a little girl. Yvonne creates spiritual paintings, jewellery, fashion garments and has showcased her designs at DAAF ‘Country to Couture’ in 2018 & 2021.
Nena Zanos is a printmaker and textile artist who is inspired by the natural environment. In her studio she creates prints on paper and fabric, artist books, eco-dyed pieces and small textile sculptures.
