Tequila Sheila: The Girl with the Deceptive Face

“Ay, your Indian girlfriend is hot!”
“She’s not Indian”
“Pakistani then, whatever”.
And thus begins the stories of ‘Tequila Sheila: The Girl with the Deceptive Face’. Where is she from? Many have guessed and many have failed. Where has she been? Everywhere. Once described as “culturally androgynous”, 2020 & 2021 NT RAW Comedy finalist Teghan Hughes is here to share her stories about what its like being a “brown” person growing up in Australia. Plus the times her face has let people down around the world.
The first time Teghan ever had a crack at stand up, she made the NT RAW Comedy finals, impressing the judges with her tales about the search for “tropical dick”, and singing a song she uses to lure men to her vagina. Since her comedy debut in 2020, Teghan has become a regular in the Darwin comedy scene performing over 25 times in 2021, including at the NT RAW Comedy finals for a second year running. Often described as “sassy”, she uses the fact that she grew up on the Sunshine Coast as the excuse for her foul language, alcoholism and concerning behaviour. ‘Tequila Sheila: The Girl with the Deceptive Face’ will be her first time delivering 50 mins of stand-up comedy and is soooo ready for the challenge.
