Learning Indonesian with Om Tom

Learning Indonesian with Om Tom

After selling out at major festivals in Adelaide and Melbourne, Learning Indonesian with Om Tom arrives at Darwin Fringe.

In this show about how (not) to learn a language, Om Tom shares his hilarious language learning journey while giving the audience practical Indonesian phrases for their next trip to Bali.

Om Tom was born in Papua New Guinea, grew up in Australia, studied in Indonesia and worked across Southeast Asia. Along the way he tried every language learning strategy imaginable and eventually turned them all into jokes.

Delivered bilingually, Learning Indonesian with Om Tom is not only a comedy show but an effort to build bridges between Indonesian and English-speaking communities.

Indonesian knowledge not required, this intro class attempts to teach the audience 60 basic Indonesian words for their next trip to Bali.
