Local songwriter Crystal Robins launches her debut EP ‘Wildfire’ at The Lucky Bat Saloon, performed live with the help of a full band of local musicians, and support set by PRAYER.
Crystal’s original songs showcase her own style of indie-folk with an alt-country twist, with sweet harmonies and relatable lyrics, drawing on her diverse musical experiences over the years. Her band features local talents Lilly Sideris, Aden Mackay, Tom Jones & Mark Smith.
Over the past year Crystal has been mentored by Toni Childs, and has supported award-winning songwriter Wendy Matthews, and virtuoso guitarist/songwriter Daniel Champagne at their Darwin shows.
She released her debut single ‘Wildfire’ in January, which was shortlisted in Listen Up Music’s Songwriting Prize 2020, and sat in the AMRAP Community Radio top ten charts for a number of weeks.
Her debut EP, an entirely independent release, was recorded by local engineer/producer Danny Christie in Darwin. The four tracks feature local collaborations as well as interstate artists including Andrew Congues (Melb), Lucinda Machin (Adelaide) and Jy-Perry Banks (Sydney). The EP will be available for sale at the event.
