Nick Yates is a Darwin-based saxophonist, composer, and improviser with a passion for new music. He is artistic director of Whistling Kite New Music, and also plays with The Changes, The Djäri Project, Arafura Music Collective and DSO.
Iran Sanadzadeh continues the pioneering legacy of dancer and choreographer Philippa Cullen on the pressure-sensitive floors, using modern technology to expand the possibilities of Cullen’s invention and examine the relationship between movement and sound. She was Artistic Director and Lead Composer for Utter, awarded Best Dance Work by the Advertiser at the 2021 Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Alice Chance is a sought-after composer, conductor, arranger, and lyricist based in Sydney. She has created music for Sydney Symphony Orchestra, The Australian String Quartet, Ensemble Offspring, Ella Hooper, Gondwana Choirs, & The Art Gallery of NSW, among many others.
Nick, Iran & Alice met at the Australian Art Orchestra’s Creative Music Intensive in 2020. These are their first performances as a trio.
