GROTESQUE GLAMOUR. VEGETABLE MANIPULATION. MESS!
In the dystopic world of the Poison Garden, Beatrice (a devilish shape-shifter), lurks in the shadow of her alter-ego Madame Nightshade (a princess-like warrior) as she serves up the messy truths of our ailing planet. Marie Antoinette meets Quentin Tarantino in an anarchic playground where vegetables are transformed into semi-automatic weapons, Snow White becomes a spring-onion wielding fighter and Mars Bars represent the ‘shit’ of the world. This is queer, feminist, environmental clowning that will leave you with food for thought!
“…delightful, disgusting, provocative and confronting…a stunning piece of theatrical comedy…” ★★★★ Artshub (2017)
‘…feminist, environmental, queer clowning that digs into rocky ground’ ★★★★ The Age (2017)

A solo comedic storytelling show: a hilarious, yet poignant, coming of age story that explores the idiosyncrasies of growing up as an outsider in small-town country Australia. This is a show about masculinity, failure, and Nelson Mandela. It’s about slam poetry, the year twelve formal, and patriarchal power structures.
It’s about teen love, internalized homophobia, and drunkenly kissing your best friend at a house party to the soundtrack of Timbaland’s 2007 chart-topping banger ‘The Way I Are’.
“One of the finest emerging comedians in the country” – Sydney Comedy Festival
After a sold-out Melbourne Fringe, don’t miss the Darwin debut of this “growing force in Australian comedy” (Broadsheet)!

When the scruffy carrots aren’t getting their little carrot rocks off by playing filthy heavy riffs, they’re listening to space jazz, and figuring out how they can be used to kill people in various ways.
Coming from a chasmic stoner rock background with rich pop sensibilities, Death By Carrot in your ears is akin to the crunching resonating in your skull as you cannibalise them, mixed with the healthy sheen of their juices slipping down your gullet.
